New Years Eve 24 hour sit-out

Two well known local men Jonathan Gault and Paul Ross are going to brave the elements of Church Street Ballymoney on New Years Eve to sit-out for 24 hours to raise awareness and funds for the work of ‘Go Uganda’, the team they are involved with through Fields of Life in East Africa.

Twelve people travelled to Uganda in September with the Go Uganda team and were involved in various aspects of missionary work from children’s holiday bible clubs, woman’s ministry, the drilling of bore holes for water wells, the erection of teachers accommodation at schools, and also sharing God’s word.

The name of the team ‘GO UGANDA’’ comes from the great commission in Matthew 28 v19 where Jesus gave the remaining disciples this instruction before he was taken back up into heaven.

“Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations”, and the theme is continued in Mark 16 v15 where Jesus says “GO into all the world and preach the good news to all creation”. This is at the heart of what the ‘GO Uganda’ team are doing in Uganda, east Africa and here at home in Ballymoney. They want people to hear the good news of Jesus Christ, what he has done and continues to do. Romans 10 v17 says “Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard from the word of Christ”. As Christians this is the work that God has called each of us to do, to share what Jesus has done for each of us in taking our punishment on the cross and also for what he can and wants to do for others.

It is a great privilege to witness what God is doing in the lives of our Ugandan friends. To see the impact and transformation through the work of Fields of Life and the local GO Uganda team is a real encouragement to all involved.

MoreggThanks to all those who help our work, we have seen their everyday needs met such as clean water, food, accommodation, education but most importantly to see their spiritual eternal needs met in Jesus Christ and him alone. For all of this we give our great God all the glory.

Jonathan and Paul want to give thanks to God for all He did for them and the team as they travelled to Uganda in September and also for everything He has done in their lives...as the Psalmist says in Psalm 105 v1 “Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known amongst the nations what He has done”.

Sit out takes place on Church Street Ballymoney from 11.00 am on Wednesday until 11.00 am Thursday New Years day.
