NITA Lifestyle Challenge comes to Antrim this weekend

THE Lifecycle 2012 event is raising awareness of the NI Transplant Forum and is organising cycling events all over Northern Ireland in the coming weeks.

This Sunday, June 17, the Northern Trust is involved in organising the local leg of the event.

Around 30 cyclists will leave from Antrim Hospital Renal Unit at 9.30 am and will cycle to Ballymena, Portglenone, Magherafelt, Toome, Randalstown and back again to Antrim - around 57 miles.

The NLC 2012 is designed to increase and stimulate public awareness of Organ Donation and increase the profile of the Charities of the NI TRANSPLANT FORUM throughout Northern Ireland.

It will be an opportunity for the Charities of the NITF to raise funds for forthcoming activities in 2012 such as the British Transplant Games in Medway, Kent, and the European Transplant and Dialysis Games in Croatia

It is hoped that the event will continue the legacy of the Belfast British Transplant Games 2011 and maintain Organ Donation in the public arena, encourage signing of the Donor Register and early discussion about the merits of Organ Donation.
