North Coast Hits Radio station all set to go on live this Friday

A new online community radio station here for the north coast is launched this Friday.

North Coast Hits Radio will be available by logging onto www.northcoasthitsradio.co.uk and has been set up by a number of DJs and presenters.

One of the DJs, Tom McDonald, told The Times: “It was set up for the people of the north coast, as the north coast has not got a local community radio station any more. We’re here to promote music into local communities.”

North Coast Hits Radio will broadcast a wide range of music over the course of each day.

Dale Thomas will present the morning breakfast shows every week day from 10am til 1pm.

Sean Green will bring his Irish Connection session to the station twice a week while Tom McDonald will be doing country, gospel and mixture music shows.

DJ Mark will present a twice weekly chart hits show and the station will also have a female DJ – Kerry Ferguson – who will serve up a “friendly feeling show” every Thursday night.

Thomas added: “Music on this new station will suit everyone from young to the not so young.

“We will be looking local business to advertise with us, and local people can donate towards the upkeep of the station.

“After all it will be their local voice in the local north coast community and also for the upkeep of the website.

“We will be doing outside events in the near future so the locals of the north coast can meet the team face to face.

“We would encourage everyone to tune in on our big launch with a few of the presenters and also a few famous voices on the night from 7pm.
