Open air theatre magic coming to Carnfunnock

Carnfunnock Country Park will play host to an evening of Jane Austen regency entertainment this month.

The ever-popular novel Emma has been newly adapted for the stage by Laura Turner and will be performed in the stunning grounds of the park on Thursday, July 19 at 7pm by Chapterhouse Theatre Company.

Emma is a young woman determined to pair her friends off with their perfect matches.

But could it be that amidst her plotting, her own true love has been there all along? Filled with glorious fun, this brand new adaptation of Jane Austen’s comedy of manners promises love and laughter aplenty. It promises to be an evening of wonderment and heart-warming romance as Emma makes her match under a beautiful summer sky.

The open-air theatre lends itself perfectly to pre-show picnics, an opportunity for friends and family to sit back and enjoy a fantastic evening of entertainment.

The park and will be open from 6pm for visitors wishing to picnic before the show. Please remember this is an outdoor event so dress appropriately for the weather and bring your own rug or low backed seating.

Booking is essential. Tickets cost £13.95, concessions £8. Family tickets are £35 and there is a 10 per cent discount for groups of 10 or more. Normal car parking charges will apply.
