And the good news is that as lockdown measures lift, those with a passion for the great outdoors will be able to walk it once more.

Back to the north coast and an educational environmental awareness campaign and action group covering the Causeway Coast and Glens area has been making an impression.

In a bid to free the Causeway Coast and Glens from all pollution, North Coast World Earth has been litter picking on beaches along the coastline and leaving a temporary memento of the visit in the form of sand art.

Using the beach as their canvas Gavin Wallace and Dave Hamill have created masterpieces on the likes of Whiterocks and Downhill and shared photos of their work on social media.

Gavin said: “I’m using my art to highlight some of the local issues we have with pollution along the Causeway coastline.

“We are all responsible, and pollution is all around us. If we do nothing, nothing will change. The problem is already here, it isn’t going away, we all need to act now in order to resolve it.”

He encouraged others to create their own piece of environmental art using only natural materials to leave a simple message or image, then share a photo with the tag #northcoastworldearth
