Pamper your petals for 59th annual Larne Flower Show

THE 59th annual Larne Borough Council flower show is this year themed on the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

The council is now calling on exhibitors to take part in the show, which will take place on Saturday, August 4 at First Larne Presbyterian Church.

The standard of entries is always exceptional and it is confidently anticipated there will be another magnificent display this August. As always, keen gardeners have the opportunity to showcase their gardening talent by exhibiting flowers, pot plants and vegetables. Entrants in the home industries section have the chance to demonstrate their baking and jam-making skills.

If you have never taken part in the show, why not give it a go this year? There are more than 90 classes to choose from, with a special section encouraging children up to 15 years old to try out their artistic talents.

The flower arrangement section tests the imagination and creativity of the borough’s top floral arrangers, while the novice section allows amateur arrangers to show what they can accomplish.

Entries for the flower show are free and should be submitted by 4pm on Thursday, August 2 or the evening of Friday 3 by 8pm. Entries will not be accepted on the morning of the show.

Exhibits may be placed on Friday evening between 6-9pm or Saturday 8.30-10.30am. Doors open to the public at 2pm on the Saturday for an opportunity to view the array of exhibits and refreshments which will be on sale. Prize-giving will take place at 3pm.
