PARENTS ARE ON RED ALERT

Parents in Ballymoney and the surrounding area have been put on ‘red alert’ following two further reports of attempted abductions of children.

On Thursday, a suspicious approach was made to a 10-year-old boy in the Carnany estate as he walked home from Leaney Primary School at around 3.15pm. It is believed a woman in black tried to grab him from behind.

She is described as 5ft 4” and was wearing a black coat and baseball hat which covered her face.

Meanwhile on Sunday it is believed another young boy was approached by a man and woman in a black BMW jeep in the Glebeside area who tried to lift him. The couple are described on a social media site as ‘a bald headed man who was driving with a woman in the passenger seat’.

Officers are investigating both incidents and urging parents to be vigilant.
