The initiative was made possible through Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s £3.8m Local Area Action Plan, funded by the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). It is also supported by the Executive Office NI and the Department for Rural and Community Development Ireland.

Dervock & District Community Association availed of funding under the PEACE IV Understanding Our Area programme to publish its research and findings. This project was one element within Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s PEACE IV Understanding Our Area programme, delivered by Museum Services with a wide range of community partners.

The book which is a repository of names associated with the area, snippets of history, a flavour of the language and a smattering of North Antrim humour will be of interest to anyone with a connection to the area. The collation of names of people who lived in the area over the years, from various historical sources, will no doubt be of value to anyone researching family history.
