Piping and drumming classing

The Kingdom of Dalriada Ulster Scots Society is pleased to announce that Piping and Pipe drumming tuition classes have started again on Monday nights in the Ullans Centre from 7pm to 9pm.

New beginners are very welcome to attend, regardless of age or ability and the tuition is provided by world class musicians. All Tutors employed by the Kingdom of Dalriada Ulster Scots Society have been Access NI checked and approved.

BALLYCASTLE Community Development Group are holding a community games weekend over August 18th and 19th and would love to close the games with a Rathlin v Ballycastle Tug of War challenge on the Sunday night at the seafront, the Times has been told.

Family day

Members of the Ballintoy & District Community Association are organising a Family Day Trip to Carnfunnock Country Park on Saturday 18th August.

The party will leave from St. Joseph’s Hall at 10am and return at approximately 5pm. All children must be accompanied by an adult and those going on the trip are advised to bring a packed lunch. Anyone wishing to go should contact Margaret Reid on 028 207 62420.

Flute classes

Flute Band is holding classes in both flute and drum.

Classes are every Monday night from 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the Ballymaconnelly Orange Hall, Vow Road. All capabilities will be cater for. This tuition project has been funded by the Ulster Scots Agency.

Lambeg tuition

BALLYMACONNELLY Renewal Group is holding tuition classes in both fife and lambeg drumming.

Everybody is welcome to come along and all standards from beginners to advanced players will be catered for. Classes are on a Thursday night from 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the Ballymaconnelly Orange Hall on the Vow Road.

This project has been supported by the Ulster Scots Agency.

Art exhibition

PORTBALLINTRAE Residents’ Association is holding its fourth annual North Coast Art and Photography Exhibition and Sale this weekend.

There will be an extensive range of paintings and photographs in all price ranges featuring local well known and accomplished artists. The exhibition/sale is on show at Portballintrae’s Village Hall from 11am to 5pm on Saturday and 1pm to 4pm on Sunday.

All proceeds from the raffle, which will be drawn on Sunday 19th August at 3:30pm, along with a portion of the art sales will help to fund much needed village facilities.

Dance Classes

Scottish Ceilidh Dance Classes will be held in Ballinlea Orange Hall on Thurs 23rd & 30th August; Fri 7th, Thurs 13th, 20th & 27th September and Fri 5th, Thurs 11th, 18th & 25th October.
