Piping classes

The Kingdom of Dalriada Ulster Scots Society is pleased to announce that Piping and Pipe drumming tuition classes start again on Monday 12th September in the Ullans Centre from 7pm to 9pm.

New beginners are very welcome to attend, regardless of age or ability and the tuition is provided by world class musicians, both of whom have received many awards and are used by the Ulster Scots Agency in schools and at events during the year.

All Tutors employed by the Kingdom of Dalriada Ulster Scots Society have been Access NI checked and approved. Anyone who would like more information on the classes, please contact the Ullans Centre on 028 276 68897.

Vintage Club

BALLYMONEY Old Vintage Club is holding an annual car run on Saturday, September 17. Cars leave Riada Avenue at 11am. Everyone is welcome to come along. For more information call 07960130030.

Meanwhile Clough Vintage Club is holding the Alec Douglas Memorial Run on Saturday, September 10.

Visitors meet at the Rangers Car Park, Clough at 12noon. The event is open to non-members.

Big lunch fun day

On Saturday the 10th of September Ruairi Og hurling club in Cushendall will be holding a Big Lunch family fun day.

Events begin at 10am with an U-12 tournament involving Ruairi Og, Cuchullian’s Dunloy and De La Salle from Waterford. Then from 1pm until 4pm we will have a selection of events and attractions including pony rides, laser tag, craft fair, car boot sale, BBQ, face painting, cross bar challenge, sponge throwing and the tyre game.

They will also have girls and boys parish league hurling matches, an U-8 biltz involving Glenshesk, Glenariffe and Cushendall along with music from the Glens Comaltas and Irish Dancing. Some come along and enjoy the fun at Ruairi Og Big Lunch Family Fun Day.

Coffee morning

Killyrammer & District Community Association are holding a coffee morning and display of old school artefacts kindly being shown by Keith Beattie of Ballymoney Museum on 10th September between 11am and 12.30pm in the Community Centre.

So come along and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, a scone and a chat. While you are there have a look at some of the pieces that were used in Killyrammer Primary School when it was open and are now stored in Ballymoney Museum. Admission is £3 and everyone will be made very welcome.

Weekly lotto

Dunaghy Flute Band held their weekly lotto recently.

The numbers drawn on Friday, August 26 were 24, 32 and 37. There were no winners so next weeks jackpot will be £1000.

Tickets for the weekly lotto draw are available from any band member.
