Reliving the legend of The Shadows

THE Courtyard Theatre in Newtownabbey will be transported back to the heyday of the 1960s as a teen guitar prodigy from Larne plays the hits of The Shadows.

So good are young Chris Braniff’s guitar skills that he has even drawn praise from Hank Marvin himself who sent his personal compliments to him after hearing him play at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast.

On February 25, Chris will perform a full stage show recreating all the hits of one of the era’s most popular bands backed by four of Northern Ireland’s top musicians - The Shadowmen.

“I have been a fan of the Shadows since I was about 12-years-old,” Chris said.

He added: “Hank Marvin has a unique sound which is instantly recognisable and I have dedicated my guitar skills to learning how to create Hank’s musical magic.

“The Shadows are legends in the world of music and my show promises to entertain and enthrall.

“It will be a great night out for Shadows fans and for those who love to hear live music played well in a theatre setting.”

Many of The Shadows instantly recognisable hits such as Apache, FBI, Wonderful Land, Kon Tiki, The Savage, Atlantis and many more will be performed.

The show is also packed with favourite hit songs including Move It, The Young Ones, Please Don’t Tease, Lucky Lips and the evergreen Summer Holiday.

‘Relive The Legend of the Shadows’ is a fast-paced, upbeat musical extravaganza that is sure to entertain and delight lovers of good music who want to recapture a wonderful moment in musical history.

Relive The Legend of the Shadows will be performed on Saturday, February 25 at 8pm at The Courtyard Theatre, Newtownabbey. Tickets are now available priced £12 by telephoning 028 9034 0202 or online at www.thecourtyardtheatre.com
