Riverside Youth Theatre welcomes new members

Coleraine’s Riverside Theatre has integrated 11 new members into the 60-strong Youth Theatre, following an intensive round of auditions held back in September.

The auditions were keenly contested with around 40 young peopke competing for the very few vacancies.

Theatre Club Committee members James Nesbitt Senior and Sheena Drummond, are in the photo to mark the fact that the Club generously provided the Youth Theatre members with logo-embossed polo-shirts.

The Youth Theatre members are now working towards a big blockbuster musical presentation for Easter 2013 of the Walt Disney show, Aladdin Junior.

Plenty on offer this weekend at the Riverside Theatre

The Riverside Theatre has three, totally contrasting shows this week: a thrilling play on Thursday night, 25th October, entitled The Man Who Left the Titanic.

As the great liner Titanic sank between the waves on April 15th 1912, J Bruce Ismay, Managing Director of the White Star shipping line, stepped into a lifeboat and sailed away from the stricken ship. This new play, still in Titanic’s anniversary year, evokes that terrible time and asks whether Ismay did what any of us might have done, under similar circumstances. Was he a coward or merely human?

On the following night, Friday 26th October at 8pm, Riverside is delighted that Patrick Kielty will be returning with his brand new show, which sold out in August, to accommodate those many people who missed out last time. Catch Patrick’s triumphant return to stand up on the stage of the Riverside Theatre in one of the most anticipated shows of 2012. From The Empire Laughs back to Live at The Apollo and following his critically acclaimed sell out run in Night in November at Belfast’s Grand Opera House and London’s West End, PATRICK KIELTY - HOME is the not to be missed stand up experience of the year. This show is for Adults-Only and not for the easily offended!
