Rotary Club celebrate first year

The Rotary Club of Ballycastle has completed its first official year and has now entered the new 2012-2013 term.

The first year of the club was a steep learning curve but fantastic success and with the help of many local people it fundraised over £8,500 which is a staggering achievement for such a new club.

The year saw the club become involved with other local groups such as Good Morning Ballycastle and Greenlight Gateway and it is keen to continue to forge relationships with other groups in the future.

This new Rotary year sees Angela Bonnar take over as president who is keen to see the club continue to go from strength to strength. As always, the Club would not exist without its members and the support of the wider community.

There are several ideas in the pipeline for an exciting programme ahead with the first fundraising event is just round the corner and as always, new members are welcome to join the club.

To kick off the new term our first fundraising event will be a quiz night on Thursday 16th August at 8pm in the Central Bar, Ballycastle. Not only will it be a good way to dust off those brain cells but it promises to be a great evening of fun too so come along and support a brilliant cause with prizes galore! Admission to the quiz is £5 per head. There will be fun and prizes - fundraising for Rotary Charities support a fantastic cause!
