Some fitness fans from Coleraine are plannng to get themseleves into a spin this October!

The Rotary Club of Coleraine, in partnership with the Spin Club in Coleraine, are organising a 12 hour spin challenge in aid of Air Ambulance Northern Ireland on October 31 from midday to midnight.

Proprietor of the Spin Club, affectionately known as the ‘Spin Queen’ Connie Burns-Wolfe said: “We are extremely pleased to host the event and support this fantastic cause. No one knows when they might need the air ambulance and if we all play our part, it’s there for us all.”

One of the participants taking on the challenge is Tracy who commented: “This is a spin with a difference as the participants taking on this mighty test of endurance will be attempting to cycle for a full 12 hours!

“We’ll need a few refreshments and comfort breaks, but the wheels will be kept spinning by our local Rotary Club members at a stand in Coleraine town centre. I like to keep fit and whilst I know this will be a tough challenge it doesn’t compare to the hardship facing families whose loved one has suffered a severe trauma injury. A

“Anyone wishing to support our gruelling 12 hours can do so on our JustGiving Page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/aanispin”

Graeme Strachan, President of the Rotary Club of Coleraine, added: “We look forward to raising all we can for Air Ambulance NI and we will also make a 10% contribution to the Rotary Foundation for local good causes.”
