The weather was kind and a large crowd of people from Cloughmills and the surrounding area enjoyed a barbeque and music event which raised much needed funds for which we are very grateful.

Tony said: “A lot of people in the village and the surrounding area have been under an increasing amount of pressure over the last few years and it is important that they know that the community and Samaritans are there to support them when they need us.”

Veronika Hankocyová and Michal “Indi” Dokoupil, Rathkenny Track and Enduro’s team riders received a warm welcome at the event and agreed that The Samaritans service is needed at this time of economic crisis in that Samaritans give you an outlet where you can talk in confidence and safety.

“I can’t thank Tony O’Hanlon, June Feeney and his staff enough for their generous offer to host this event, this was a great way to not only raise funds but also raises awareness of the Samaritans service in the community”, said Margaret Black, Director of Ballymena Samaritans.

She went on to say “If you are feeling that life is getting to you, it is important to talk to someone. Samaritans are always available when you need us.”

Talking can be a great relief it is because Samaritans recognise this that they offer to be there to listen 24hrs 7 days a week. Phone them on 08457 90 90 90. Samaritans listen without being judgmental.
