School choirs chance to shine on UTV

ULSTER Television is inviting primary school choirs in Lurgan to step into Christmas this December with ‘UTV’s Christmas Carols’.

UTV Live will feature a festive twist at the end of each programme, with a choir from each County singing the programme out in the run up to Christmas.

Any choirs interested in participating should upload a clip, which showcases the choir singing a festive tune to u.tv/carols. The choir can be made up of any number of children, with a maximum of up to 50 pupils.

‘UTV Christmas Carols’ is open to all schools in Northern Ireland with pupils of primary school age. The closing date for ‘UTV Christmas Carols ’is Friday 30 November at 5pm.

Darwin Templeton, Head of news and content at UTV said: “We are really looking to getting out to local primary schools around Northern Ireland to record young people singing carols for our viewers on UTV Live in the run up to Christmas. There is nothing quite like a young choir singing at Christmas to make people feel good as it captures the essence of the season of good will.”
