See ‘Dream Hats’ at Causeway Hospital!

A new exhibition has opened at Causeway Hospital showcasing work completed with participants from Mental Health Community Outpatients as part of the Arts Care ‘Here and Now’ Project.

Helene Brynes, artist, facilitated five workshops in the Coleraine area including ‘Dream Hats’ where she worked closely with eight participants from the mental health service along with Occupational Therapist, Alice McKeown and Technical Instructor, Cindy Friers.

The participants made and decorated a hat using a place of their dreams as the inspiration.

The completed hats were given to the participants, but prior to this Helene took photographs of the completed hats and the entire project.

These photographs can be seen in the Causeway Hospital exhibition space of the first floor corridor.

The exhibition was opened last month by Eddie Aiken, the Chair of the Causeway Arts Care Group to the enjoyment of those in attendance who were suitably impressed by the quality of the work.

Arts Care organised the project across the key health and community care services for older people in all of the five Health and Social Care Trusts in Northern Ireland.
