Singer Katie meets Nashville star

The Rathkenny singer sang Jenn Bostic’s Jealous of the Angels on George Jones’ Star Spot on Downtown Radio back in September but little did she realise that just a few months later she’d meet the Nashville star in person.

George had sent Katie’s version of the song to Jenn in Nashville and when the singer flew in to appear on his show last week, he arranged for Katie to come along.

Katie then stood in for Jenn to sing the song at an event to raise awareness for Survivors of Suicide (SOS) in Belfast.

“It has been a crazy couple of months since I was on Downtown,” Katie said.

She added: “George has been so kind to me, sending my version of Jenn’s song over to her and arranging for us to meet and taking part in the event on Sunday.

“It was a very thought provoking day due to the cause and with it being the first time in front of complete strangers; a very surreal day.”

Katie’s music has been receiving lots of airplay, including on Big T’s Country Show and on Radio Cracker.
