The car competition was inspired by Air Ambulance NI patient Simon Osborne from Ballymoney who had a serious road traffic collision in January 2019 with life changing injuries.

So far, 861 tickets have been sold which will help keep the pre-hospital critical care service operational for another two days.

Kerry Anderson, Head of Fundraising with the charity said: “By buying one of the tickets available at www.cmcompetitionsni.co.uk you will not only support the charity but also be in with an incredible chance of winning the Golf R. It’s not one to miss, better odds than the lottery and will help save a life.

This 2016 Volkswagen Golf R has been secured by the Ballymoney Osborne family, whose son Simon needed the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service team in 2019 and since then have been passionate fundraisers of Air Ambulance NI. Having missed their usual fundraising events due to Covid-19, the family came up with the idea of a charity car competition. Almost 80 key donors have covered the full cost of the car and ticket entries will benefit the charity. Entry to the competition is now available at www.cmcompetitionsni.co.uk with each ticket costing £15. “We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Osborne family who secured the car along with 80 key sponsors, all those who have already bought tickets, and Ryan from CM Competitions NI for hosting the competition. As the costs of the car have been fully covered and Ryan is gifting his support, it means that every ticket has maximum benefit to the charity.”

Air Ambulance NI attends on average two incidents every single day treating critically ill and injured patients with life threatening injuries. The Helicopter Emergency Medical Service is provided by way of a partnership between Air Ambulance NI and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

Tickets for the Volkswagen Golf R are available for just £15 per ticket entry now at www.cmcompetitionsni.co.uk until 11pm on April 23 with the draw happening at 12 noon on April 24.
