Successful annual Aiding Recovery Conference

The Hope Centre’s fourth annual Aiding Recovery Conference has been held once again with great success.

The conference is aimed at supporting service users, families and also agencies dealing with addictions.

Aiding Recovery has become a very special event for the Hope Centre and, this year, more than 150 people attended including representatives of more than 50 organisations, professionals, service users and families. Among those who addressed the conference was Professor Robin Davidson who spoke about ‘the new epidemic’ - the misuse of prescription meds, Dr Rosemary Macartney who spoke about the effects of alcohol on the brain and Ben Delija Hope Centre Project Coordinator spoke about the Let’s Get Programme and the successes achieved by clients. Ben stated that the conference demonstrated that recovery can happen with support and positive attitude and willingness to change.
