Talent set to shine at Moneyneena variety show

Excitement is mounting in Ballinascreen as plans are advancing well for the hugely popular Variety Concert making a welcome return to Moneyneena’s An Rath Dubh Centre on Sunday 15 February at 7pm.

The Concert which has proven to be a crowd puller in past years will see many familiar faces as well as introducing new up and coming talent from all ends of the Parish.

Highlights include: Michael & Cara Murray, Champion Irish Dancers, Kate McCloskey, Star Vocalist of local School musicals, the Kelly Girls, up and coming Folk singers of the future and Ballinascreen Comhaltas -Traditional music at its best. Additionally the programme will include Raymond O’Hagan who will recite established pieces of his work along with a first rendition of his newly penned memories of Moneyneena – an event not to be missed! Joining the line up with a much sought after performance will be one of the highly acclaimed Murphy Twins, Celine Murphy and the ‘Pride of Armagh’ Vocalist Janette McDaid.

Following a short interval, multi competition winners of yesteryear, St Colm’s Set Dancers will be reunited for a special performance along with Catherine Kennedy, a local Singer/Songwriter rapidly becoming a global internet sensation, Oonagh Clarke, sensational multi competition winning vocalist as well as Colin Rogers, the ‘Award winning Bruce Springsteen of Moneyneena’.

A spokesperson for the organising Committee also confirmed that a Special Guest star of much renown would also be appearing on the night but was unable to give any further detail at this stage.

Compere for the evening will be the star of the Grimes & McKee television show, the one and only Mr Seamus J Devlin.

A night of great entertainment, not to be missed, admission is £5 per adult with £3 concessionary rate for children. Performances may vary in exceptional circumstances.

The Concert has been organised by the local Development Group with a view to showcasing the range of local talent that exists in the area as well as providing a great night’s entertainment and as a fundraiser to help support some of the group’s community projects currently being planned.
