The Croaghan Way half-day ramble - August 6

Formally known as the Breen and Milibern Walks, these have been re-named the Croaghan Way and gained a quality walking accreditation from the Countryside Access and Activities Network due to the outstanding views from the summit of Croaghan itself.

Set within the Antrim Coast & Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty this 5.5 mile half-day ramble offers participants the opportunity to experience Ballymoney’s only hill walking route, which has recently been designated as an Area of Special Scientific Interest.

A Forest Service guide will be accompanying walkers and highlighting some interesting facts along the way. Walkers must bring warm, waterproof clothing and carry a packed lunch. This circular walk starts and finishes at the Council’s Altarichard Car Park and Picnic Area on the Altarichard Road.

This can be accessed via the Orra Scenic Route between Ballymoney/Armoy and Cushendun/Cushendall. There is one steep hill climb, including open heath/moorland terrain which may be marshy underfoot. A moderate to good level of fitness is required for this event. The walk costs £2 per person with a family concession of £5.
