The Gospel According to Elvis!

‘The Gospel According to Elvis’ will take to the stage on Saturday, December 8.

It’s no secret Elvis loved Gospel music.

In fact three of Elvis’s 14 Grammy nominations were for Gospel recordings; ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, ‘He Touched Me’ and ‘How Great Thou Art’.

The spiritual music of Elvis is portrayed powerfully in this unforgettable night of entertainment with music and lead vocals from the Kilkenny based Memphis Cats.

The Memphis Cats will perform in the style of the King of Las Vegas, Elvis Presley from a soulful “How Great Thou Art“ to an uplifting “Oh Happy Days“ The Memphis Cats will entertain you with an uplifting spiritual night

Joining The Memphis Cats on stage are the Portrush based Ballywillan Drama Group who will be accompanying the band as a choir on this occasion.

The local group have over 60 years experience. They celebrated their Diamond Jubilee this year, and are looking forward to taking time out of their busy rehearsal schedule to join the Memphis Cats at the Riverside Theatre for ‘The Gospel According to Elvis’ show.

The Drama Group has performed on many occasions at the Riverside Theatre, producing, year after year their annual pantomime.
