Thomas, who spent several years in England before returning to his native Irvinestown to form his new band, believes that there is still a strong demand for country dancing despite the ongoing recession.

“We all know that times are tough but nonetheless people like to enjoy the feel good factor of dancing,” said Thomas.

The band have appeared at a number of festivals lately and won several awards which have helped to enhance their image. Fhiona, a native of Wexford, is not only a fine singer but is also a talented saxophone player and this element of versatility lends an extra dimension to the band.

Their visit to the Millbrook Lodge Hotel is creating considerable interest and the band has a special reason for hoping that this proves a memorable night.

“When we initially went on the road we played at the Millbrook and the reaction was terrific. Hopefully it will be a case of same again next Saturday,” added Thomas.
