Time to talk

The Lurgan girl is studying Interactive Media Arts at the University of Ulster at Coleraine and has just finished her second year.

After ten years as a classroom assistant (mainly at St Paul’s Junior High School) Máire left her career behind to study Photography at HND level at the Southern Regional College.

This gave her the confidence to go on to University.

Máire hopes to go down the route of photo journalism, with the hope of one day setting up her own photography business.

Máire has been told she had to give her two nephews, Conor and Tiárnan, and two nieces, Ríona and Déarbhla, a mention somewhere in this week’s ‘MAIL’.

What do you like to do on your day off?

If it’s not spent with my nieces and nephews then I’ll have a lie in, do some shopping, then go out for a bite to eat and a few drinks with the girls.

What would you do with a million pounds?

I would make sure my family are sorted, throw a party for my mates and take myself off on an around the world trip.

I would finish the trip off in a Third World country where I would set up a school or an orphanage and volunteer.

If you could visit any time in history, which would you choose and why?

The 60s so I could go back and be a Hippy.

What is your dream holiday?

Ibiza - I’d love to go back.

Slob or clean freak? Why do you say that?

It depends where I am. I am happy enough to let my ones run after me when I am at home...

Your biggest fashion disaster?

A silver pair of Spice Girl boots (high platforms) which were all the go by the way!!!

If you ruled the world what would you do first?

Make every day a paid holiday unless, of course, you actually wanted to go into work.

If you were an animal what would you be and why?

I would be a butterfly because they are lovely to look at and are always flying off to somewhere different.
