Top class country at Tullyglass

Tullyglass House Hotel, Ballymena has for a number of years been synonymous with top class country dancing.

Now the hotel’s reputation as one of the top venues for this form of entertainment in the province is to be further enhanced via the staging of a bumper August festival of dancing which will embody Ireland’s leading bands.

It’s in response to unprecedented demand for the elite bands and the desire to see an injection of momentum into the dancing scene that the Tullyglass, justifiably proud of its rich tradition, has stepped smartly up to the mark to unveil a programme that is the envy of most other venues.

Lisa McHugh and her band will launch the spectacular series on August 2 and she will be followed a week later by Jimmy Buckley.

Then on Saturday, August 16 Derek Ryan and his band will be on stage hoping to replicate the success of their visit to the venue earlier this year when they attracted a huge crowd to the spacious ballroom.

And there will also be a VIP welcome for Mike Denver and his band when they perform there on August 23.

Mike is lapping up the success of his new release “Tommy K” which is proving a massive hit in the ballrooms given its infectious dancing beat.

Naturally, it will be the highlight of his show in the Tullyglass and he can expect a huge reception there as indeed can the ever-popular Declan Nerney when he takes the stage on August 30.

Declan is looking forward with particular relish to returning to the Tullyglass.

Ballymena as a town boasts a great entertainment and dancing pedigree and it’s terrific to see the Tullyglass putting on the style again,” says Declan.

The hotel will be offering meal and accomodation deals for dancers and given its excellent ancillary facilities the August dancing bonanza should prove a sure-fire winner.
