Traffic and travel advice for those heading to Belfast’s Monster Mash

Belfast’s Halloween Monster Mash takes place at the Titanic Slipways this Saturday - organised by Belfast City Council with support from Q Belfast’s City Beat.

The top event from 4pm-7pm with this year’s theme ‘Carnival Rock’ will enable monsters and ghouls of all ages to come down and enjoy a spooktacular evening – drawing to a close with the largest fireworks display in the city.

Free ‘ghost shuttle buses’ will be available to whisk young and old ghouls and goblins to the event. The buses will depart from Chichester Street (outside SS Moore’s) every 15 minutes from 3.45pm-6.15pm and will drop off on Queen’s Road. The last bus will leave Queen’s Road at Titanic Belfast at around 7.30pm. People attending the event are advised to avail of this complimentary service.

While there is no dedicated car parking for the event, pay spaces are available in the city centre as well as the DRD car parks and on street for those wishing to use the ghost shuttle. Paid for car parking is also available near to The Slipways at Titanic Belfast and at the Belfast Met. There is no on-street parking on the Queen’s Road.

Belfast Lord Mayor, Councillor Arder Carson, said: “The Halloween Monster Mash is one of the highlights of our events calendar and like previous years, it will not disappoint.

“It’s a spooky evening of fun and all for free with the timing just right for families to come down with young children as well as people who want to enjoy the festivities before heading out in Belfast for other Halloween celebrations taking place in the city.

“I would call on all from near and far to come down and enjoy Halloween in Belfast - the spooky goings-on on site and the spectacular fireworks display at the end which really is second to none.”
