Translink swings into action for Irish Open

Translink is providing dedicated coach and park and ride services for golf fans from Larne heading to the 2012 Irish Open at Royal Portrush Golf Club from June 28 – July 1.

With thousands of additional visitors expected to descend on the popular north coast seaside town, golf fans are being encouraged to plan their journeys in advance.

Translink North Eastern Area Manager Arthur Hamilton said there are many travel options available: “The Irish Open is set to be one of this year’s sporting highlights and we want to ensure visitors to Portrush enjoy hassle-free journeys and that traffic congestion in the area is reduced as much as possible.

“The European Tour has already announced record ticket sales and hundreds of people have already booked their travel with us by coach or train. We would strongly encourage remaining ticket-holders to also think about how they will get safely to and from Royal Portrush.

“Dedicated golf coach services will depart from Larne and are available to book online only at £15 per adult and £7.50 per child.”
