Flights between Belfast and Malta to begin in February

EasyJet is to give Northern Ireland its first scheduled air service to the Mediterranean island of Malta.

Seats went on sale earlier this month with the first departure on February 11 next year. Flights will operate on Tuesdays at 8.00am and Saturdays at 13.35.Tuesday flight leaving Belfast at 0800 Saturdays at 13.35. The flying time will be 4h 05m outbound and 3h 50m inbound.

"Malta is often described as an 'open-air museum' and has a rich history that is evident in its stunning architecture.

"The island is famous for its clear blue waters and, for today's visitors, there is the obvious appeal of dry, warm summers.

"Malta is a very welcome addition to easyJet's existing hotspot destinations like Alicante, Faro, Ibiza, Malaga and Palma."
