Thomson Dream Makes Her Maiden Voyage

The latest addition to the Thomson cruise fleet, Thomson Dream, has made her maiden voyage in TUI colours.

A recent incident in Egypt necessitating repairs to the ship - formerly Costa Europa - caused some concerns she would not be ready in time.

However, the vessel jumped into action last week ahead of schedule to help people unable to travel back to the UK because of the volcanic eruption in Iceland.

The ship sailed to Palma and transported customers of both Thomson and First Choice from Majorca to Mainland Spain.

David Selby, Director of Thomson Cruises had this to say: "Over the past weeks we have been liaising very closely with Costa Cruises to keep up to date with the repairs on the ship. Today, we are happy to say Thomson Dream is sailing with our passengers on her maiden voyage around the Western Mediterranean, although not the first passengers.

Her help this week with the repatriation of customers has meant that she is starting her career in a very good light – long may it continue."
