Wet weather fails to dampen spirits at Hill Croft Summer Schemes

PUPILS attending Hill Croft School’s Summer Schemes had a ball, despite the unseasonal weather.

The Junior scheme ran from July 16 to 20 for school pupils aged 3 to 11 years, while the Senior scheme for school pupils aged 12 to 18 was held from July 23 to 27. All pupils who attended Hill Croft during the school year were eligible to attend.

The Junior scheme children enjoyed fun-filled and action-packed trips to Ludo Time soft play in Carrickfergus Amphitheatre, local parks and ice cream parlours. The rest of the time was filled with a disco, having fun on bouncy castles, doing arts and crafts and using the New Mossley school’s fabulous Adventure Play Trail and Enclosed Ball Arena.

The Senior scheme meanwhile, had an Olympic theme to tie in with London 2012 and the young people enjoyed a range of activities linked to the Olympics. The Seniors went on a few outings, made use of the excellent sports facilities at the school and enjoyed a penalty shoot-out. They also took part in a 10-pin bowling competition at Glengormley Sportsbowl.

The changeable weather didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the children and young people for the range of exciting activities on offer, and both summer schemes proved a great success.
