Wilsons of Rathkenny Nissan has a bird’s eye view of the Nissan Qashqai

BALLYMENA motorists with a fear of parking in tight spaces can breathe a sigh of relief thanks to the introduction of the ground-breaking 360° Around View Monitor available with the Nissan QASHQAI.

The system, a first in its class, uses a set of discreet external cameras to provide drivers with a bird’s eye view of the vehicle and makes manoeuvring and parking as safe and easy as possible.

Working seamlessly with the popular Nissan Connect touch screen navigation system, the Around View Monitor adds three additional cameras to the QASHQAI’s existing rear view system to create the ultimate all-round view.

What’s more, the driver can choose to focus on the image feed from any particular camera when looking out for a specific obstacle.

A feature normally only found on luxury class vehicles, Wilsons of Rathkenny Nissan in Ballymena is inviting motorists to visit the dealership and experience the ultimate parking experience for themselves.

Speaking on the introduction of the new feature, John Wilson, Managing Director at Wilsons of Rathkenny Nissan said: “The 360° Around View Monitor is a really exciting addition to the Nissan QASHQAI.

“Very few drivers would say they embrace parking, particularly in tight spaces and on busy streets. The new Around View Monitor takes the stress out of the situation; ensuring drivers aren’t only able to park effortlessly within the parameters of a space, but centrally too.

“We encourage drivers concerned about parking to visit the dealership and experience it for themselves, we’re confident they’ll be amazed by how easy it is.”

The Around View Monitor system is available with the QASHQAI and QASHQAI+2, including the fuel efficient QASHQAI 1.6 litre dCi.

The diesel engine QASHQAI is the latest addition to the award-winning British designed, engineered and built crossover family and offers drivers the best of both worlds – greatly reduced emissions and improved in-gear performance.

Enhanced economy is achieved through the implementation of several advanced engine technologies, the most effective of which is engine downsizing. With engine capacity reduced from 1995cc to 1598 cm3, the overall size, weight and mechanical losses of the engine are lessened, allowing for the optimum balance between fuel consumption and performance.

With CO2 emissions of just 119g/km, the savings for QASHQAI drivers will be immediately felt. A 31% improvement in fuel economy results in 62.8mpg, an increase of 14.9mpg on the combined cycle, while the first year’s VED is free of charge.

And company car drivers are not forgotten, as they will also benefit with a tax banding of just 13% thanks to its low CO2 emissions.
