X Factor comes to local schools

FANCY your chances on an X-Factor style programme?

If so, a number of local schools in the area will provide the platform for budding Alexandra Burkes or Ollie Muirs enthusiasts.

Dunseverick Primary School is one venue chosen for an all-day session on Saturday, June 16, with arrangements made for two age groups - 6 to 11 years of age and 11 to 17’s.

It’s a golden opportunity to impress judges and walk away with a £50 cash prize if successful.

Dunseverick Community Association are running the event backed by the North Antrim Community Network. The copetition is open to those who qualify by age and entry forms are in the school.

Other schools in the area are also taking part. These include Cross and Passion, Ballycastle High School and Ballycastle Integrated, Straibilly, Ballytobrer, Dunluce High and Bushmills Primary along with Bush Valley, Stranocum.

A leading member of Dunseverick Community Association, Mr. Kerr, said they would encourae people to take part given that it was a fun event and no pressure would be put on anyone.

“We want youngsters and teenagers to come and enjoy themselves and who knows we may unearth a star of the future,” he said.
