YFC shooting day planned

BASC Northern Ireland will host a Young Farmers’ Shooting Day on Saturday 6th September at North Antrim Rifle and Pistol Club, near Dervock.

The event is open to any member of a Northern Ireland Young Farmers’ Club.

Participants will be given a safety briefing and safe handling instruction before being given the opportunity to shoot a .22 air rifle, .22 rimfire rifle, .243 full bore rifle and a number of other firearms under supervision.

There will be a presentation on Northern Ireland’s firearms and wildlife legislation which will cover situations that farmers might encounter.

Eye and ear protection will be provided on the day and the event will cost £30 for those aged under 21 and £40 for those aged 21 or over. A barbecue lunch will be provided and is included in the cost of the day.
