YMCA drama takes top spot

A DRAMA entitled ‘A Night out can become a Nightmare’ by Lisburn YMCA was the winning entry into a competition sponsored by the Irish Temperance League.

Professor Sam McCready and his wife Joan, both well known as adjudicators in drama and actors in their own right, assisted in judging the entries, The Irish Temperance League has a network of over 80 community groups working to combat alcohol and other drug abuse.

This year it invited the groups to participate in a drama competition. They were asked to write up and present a 20 minute drama on any theme related to their activities in combatting abuse, and to submit it on a DVD.
