1 Protestant in Foras na Gaeilge NI office

JUST one Protestant works in Foras na Gaeilge’s Northern Ireland office compared with six Catholics and just two Catholics work in the Ulster-Scots Agency’s Northern Ireland office compared with 12 Protestants, according to the Culture Minister Carol Ní Chuilín.

She said there was no legal requirement for either Foras na Gaeilge or the Ulster-Scots Agency to gather community background information for the staff working in their offices based in the Republic of Ireland but gave a breakdown of community background for the staff working in the Belfast offices of both Agencies.

There are 13 permanent members of staff and two temporary members employed by the Ulster-Scots Agency in its Belfast Office. The Agency also employs 2 full time members of staff in its Raphoe Office in Donegal.
