10 points for being drunk in charge

A Dungannon man has been given ten penalty points and a £200 fine after he was caught in charge of a vehicle whilst drunk.

Conor Martin, 22, from Lisnahull Park, was accused of committing the offence on February 19.

Police found him at his car parked outside his girlfriend’s house with the engine running. At the time, he told police that he’d had ‘one pint’ earlier in the evening, and had argued with his partner.

The breathalyser showed a reading of 44mcg, just over the proscribed limit.
