12-hour '˜spinathon' raises hundreds in support of TinyLife

Local couple Angela and Matthew Wright organised the event to generate vital funds for TinyLife.

Family and friends of the couple took turns keeping two spin bikes going from 8am to 8pm during the session last Wednesday evening.

“The spinathon has raised £1074.85 so far and there is still money to come in,” said Angela. “There were 30 people in total spinning over the 12 hours.

“We are very grateful to Paul Mawhinney and the team at the Amphitheatre who allowed us to host the event.”

Every day in Northern Ireland six babies are born too soon, some arriving as early as 26 weeks and weighing as little as 1lb.

TinyLife provides emotional and practical support to the parents of premature babies across Northern Ireland, through their raft of Family Support Services.

It also funds research into maternal and child health.
