“Around 15 vehicles were damaged in this incident which can only be described as wanton vandalism.

“There is a fear factor in the area now, however police are reassuring home owners in the area that patrols will be stepped up.”

Independent councillor Claire Sugden also spoke out about the incident: “I am disgusted by an appalling, senseless crime carried out by those who have no respect for themselves or others.

“They are brazen individuals with have no positive role to play within our community and have created fear and anger in a good neighbourhood that will not tolerate it.”

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 0845 600 8000 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
