17 animal cruelty notices issued
The Animal Welfare Service received over 633 calls regarding animal Welfare incidents in Derry City Council area from April 1, 2013 to March 31 this year.
This resulted in 789 enforcement visits and 17 enforcement Improvement Notices were issued.
There is no evidence of an increase in incidents due to effects of austerity.
