170 quarries in Moyle area
AN estimated 170 quarries and mines across the Moyle District area are being assessed in terms of safety, councillors were told.
Recently the Environment Minister at Stormont wrote to councils asking them to carry out a study on quarries.
Moyle Council heard the large number of quarries in their area means the assessments will need much work.
