Three masked men, one with a handgun, held up staff at Brendan’s Diner, Spencer Road, on Tuesday night and made off with a sum of money. One was described as 5’ 10”, wearing light-coloured jeans and blue hooded stop. Another was wearing black jeans, green jacket and light trainers.

Punishment beating: Police in Londonderry are hunting a gang of seven people who viciously assaulted two men in Creggan on Tuesday night. Shortly after 11pm, the masked men entered a house in Iniscarn Road, three of them were carrying handguns, the others were wielding an iron bar, bricks and batons with nails embedded in them. They singled out two men in their 30s and assaulted them. One man suffered a broken arm and scapula, left side, a broken hand and wounds and bruising to his arms and legs.
