2010 Milk Cup 'best so far' - Frew

CONGRATULATIONS have been extended to the Milk Cup Committee and all the people who played a part in its success, last week, by North Antrim MLA Paul Frew.

Mr Frew described the 2010 event as “arguably the best year so far for talent on the field and logistics of the field”.

Paul Frew said: The competition keeps on getting better and better and bigger and bigger. It is truly a global affair.

“I have been out and about visiting some of the venues and there has been a tremendous talent on show and it never fails to amaze me how important it is to the organizers that every team is treated very well which is one of the reasons why the competition is so successful.

“It cannot be highlighted enough how much this competition means to the ecomomy of our country, the tourism potential of the country, and the sporting potential in this country. It is also plain to be seen how much the great teams in world football value this great competition,” he said.

“It is also very important to the grassroots of football here in this small part of the world, and it is very important that all the young people who play football can take ownership of this competition and take pride from the competition and be motivated by it”.

Mr Frew continued: “I would also commend all the people who take the time to run our youth football teams”..
