Chairman of the Garvagh Clydesdale and Vintage Vehicle Club and local vet, Nevin Smith said; “We are celebrating our 20th year, so it’s a special time for the club. The event has gone from strength to strength and we are set to bring the best event yet particularly as it is our anniversary.

“As always the Clydesdale show will take centre stage with numerous Clydesdales coming from all over Northern Ireland. The show field will also be filled with a superb vintage vehicle display including steam engines, classic cars and motorbikes, vintage tractors and kitties.

“We really do have many different types of spectacles to keep everyone amused, including an animal farm display with unusual animals and a birds of prey exhibition where children can get a photograph with the birds. The annual pet show will take place in the main arena and we welcome all types of pets and creatures. A special prize will be awarded to the most unusual entry.

“There will be entertainment throughout the day with music by John Knox, a line dancing show with Mandy’s Country Kickers and the Poteen Makers will be performing in the main arena. This really is a fantastic day for all the family!”

The Show takes place on Saturday in the Orange field on the Coleraine Road at the north end of the village. Entry is £5 per person, please contact Nevin Smith on 07872832334 for information.

Nevin added: “We are delighted to have RiverRidge Recycling back on board as our event sponsor once again this year. I would like to thank RiverRidge Recycling for their continued support over the years, it is this support which helps us to provide a great show for everyone year after year. The Club is also thankful to the many volunteers, who give us their time freely.”
