A local Irish Dancing School is celebrating the success of one of its pupils at the recent ‘An Comhdhail’ World Irish Dancing Championships.

Jane Bailie, a pupil at the McGuigan School of Irish Dancing which holds classes in St Patrick’s Pastoral Centre, Chapel Hill, Lisburn and Derryvolgie Parish Church, Belsize Road, Lisburn, beat off stiff competition in her category to clinch the Girls Under 16 title at the Championships, which were held in Killlarney, Co Kerry.

Winning the World Championship title was a dream come true, said Jane, 16, who has been dancing from she was four years old.

“I worked really hard over the last few months perfecting my steps and am delighted that my continuous hard work and dedication has paid off,” she said.

“None of this would have been possible without my dancing teachers Leeanne and Colleen McGuigan”.

Colleen and Leeanne said they were delighted with Jane’s success.

“We’re just over the moon for Jane,” they said. “She has worked really hard and she fully deserves this success.”

Colleen and Leeanne would like to congratulate all their dancers on their recent ‘World’ success.
