30 jobs as Poundland comes to Ballymena

POUNDLAND, Europe's biggest single price discount retailer, will open a new store in the Tower Centre, later this month, creating up to to 30 new jobs.

To celebrate Poundland’s arrival in Ballymena, one of the UK’s favourite soap stars will officially welcome shoppers and kick off a family fun day. - Details of the celebrity will be announced nearer to the opening date.

Poundland has 278 stores nationwide selling a huge selection of products at just 1 each. The range includes top brand essentials including Mr Muscle, Cadbury, Weight Watchers, Colgate and Kodak.

Poundland also offers seasonal products including a range for this year’s World Cup which kicks off next month. There are often plenty of offers including 3 for 1 and ‘Buy One Get One Free’ deals, so shoppers can get even more for a pound.

Poundland’s Trading Director, David Coxon, says: “Poundland has grown significantly over the past year and it’s fantastic to see this expansion continuing with another new store in Northern Ireland.

“Opening here will create new jobs and a great shopping experience for the local community. We have been satisfying shoppers for nearly 20 years so we’re confident the savvy shoppers in this area will also be delighted by the amazing value that Poundland offers.”
