Following the display of Sinn Féin posters in the Irish Street estate, Councillor Gregory Campbell, of the DUP has accused those responsible of “attempting to stir up sectarian trouble in this Protestant stronghold.” “At 2am on Sunday morning past,” said Mr Campbell, “a number of Sinn Féin supporters came into Irish Street Estate with ladders and numerous posters. A considerable number were erected and it was not until Protestants in the estate chased the Sinn Féin workers that the matter was resolved.”
