39 dissident bombs in Strand Road station area in 3 years

There were 39 shooting incidents and 39 bombing incidents over the three year period, according to information released by the PSNI under the Freedom of Information Act.

In the wider G District there was a total of 112 terrorist incidents carried out by republican groups; 59 shooting incidents and 53 bombing incidents.

Shootings refer to shots fired by terrorists; paramilitary-style attacks involving shootings; and shots heard that were later confirmed.

“An individual bombing incident may involve one or more explosive devices. Incidents recorded include explosions and defusings. Incidents involving hoax devices, petrol bombings or incendiaries are excluded,” the PSNI stated.
