54 swine flu admissions

FIFTY-FOUR people were admitted to Altnagelvin with swine flu between September last and the end of January.

Londonderry was evidently not as severely affected as other areas of the province with the RBHSC (145 patients), Craigavon (121 patients), Royal Victoria (92 patients), Antrim (82 patients) and Ulster (76 patients) reporting more admissions.

Health Minister Michael McGimpsey advised that the 54 people were admitted to Altnagelvin between September 1, 2009 and January 21 via A&E with a clinical diagnosis of swine flu.
