61.2% have NVQ level two or lower

THE percentage of people of working age in Londonderry with NVQ Level 2 or lower as their highest qualification is over 60 per cent and higher than the Northern Ireland average.

SDLP MLA Mary Bradley asked Minister of Enterprise, Trade and Investment, Arlene Foster to outline the percentages.

She advised: “Figures from the 2008 annual Labour Force Survey (LFS) database estimated that 61.9 per cent of people of working age in the Foyle Constituency had NVQ Level 2 or lower as their highest qualification.

“This compared to a figure of 55.0 per cent for Northern Ireland as a whole.”
